2016 Nissan Crossover Concept

Having already launched two new production cars, the2016 Nissan Titan XD and the 2016 Nissan Maxima , earlier in 2015, Nissan will use the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show to showcase a new concept car . The announcement comes with a shadowy teaser depicting a sporty front fascia, but no actual information whatsoever on the concept car or the production model to follow. At least for now.
Quoting successful sales from crossovers such as theJuke Qashqai , and the X-Trail , Nissan says this new concept car will help the brand "continue to innovate and move the bar higher," as well as deliver a "new way to feel driving excitement." We won’t find out what that means until the actual vehicle breaks cover in Detroit , but there are at least two scenarios on the table.
Judging by the sporty design and the fact that the 2015 Nissan Juke is in need of a makeover, this study could very well preview the second-generation Juke. On the other hand, Autocar says the concept could wear the famous Z badge and replace the current370Z , which will be discontinued by 2017. Although it doesn’t make much sense for Nissan to dilute its Z legacy with a crossover, the current market seems like the perfect setting for a small sports crossover.
Keep it locked here for more details on this concept car, but until Nissan spills the beans, make sure you have a look at my speculative piece below.

2015 - 2016 Nissan Versa Sedan

The 2015 Nissan Versa Sedan made its debut at the2014 New York International Auto Show and if you were hoping to get wholesale changes to make the car more appealing to the public, then you’re in for a rude awakening. Granted, there are some upgrades, but not enough to make you itch to get your hands on one. Some simple tweaks to the front and rear sections and a slightly improved interior are the best that you can hope for with the 2015 model.
Even the engine, with its pedestrian 109-horsepower output, hasn’t been changed. We would’ve hoped that Nissan did something about that considering that a lot of its rivals offer significantly more power, even though you have to spend a little more for them.
In the end, the 2015 Versa Sedan does still hold the distinction of being the cheapest model in its segment, so Nissan is probably riding that advantage until the cows come home. How long will that strategy last depends on how fast consumers realize that spending a little more could get you a car much better equipped than the Versa Sedan. Then again, at this price point — typically aimed at young buyers with a very limited budget — every dime counts and sacrifices are made to save those dimes.
Updated 09/08/2015: Nissan announced prices for the 2016 Versa sedan which goes on sale now at Nissan dealers nationwide. For 2016, Versa sedan will be priced from $11,990 - same as for the 2015. The model remains pretty much unchanged, with the only additions including two new exterior colors and some updates on the interior.

2011 Nissan 370Z GT

nissan 370z gt picture

year:2011
Torque @ RPM:270@5200
Engine:V6
Horse Power @ RPM:332@7000
0-60 time:5.3 sec.
Top Speed:155 mph

While everyone’s attention at Nissan’s stand in Geneva was aimed at their new Esflow concept, the 370Z GT Edition sitting idly by almost passed by unnoticed. It’s a little unnerving, but it’s a good thing it didn’t escape altogether because it is a very cool car. The model was created as a special celebration of Nissan’s huge success in GT racing all over the world and as part of the celebration the special edition gets subtle suspension revisions, special racing strips, new wheels, and three special body color choices. The V6 engine remains unchanged.
"The 370Z is an iconic sports car and the GT Edition underlines its appeal to enthusiasts everywhere," said Pierre Loing, Vice President Product Planning, Nissan International SA. "The combination of outstanding performance and the dramatic looks of this very special 370Z more than lives up to the heritage of its illustrious forebear while its strong links to the race track shows its true pedigree."

UPDATE 05/18/2011: The Nissan 370Z GT will be going on sale in the UK on June 1, 2011, for a starting price of £35,000 - or about $57,000 at the current exchange rates. The model will be distinguished by three special body color choices, side stripes, and darkened 19” alloy wheels.

Exterior and Interior

The new Nissan 370Z GT Edition will be distinguished by gray ’GT’ stripes running along the flanks of the car and standard 19" RAYS forged alloy wheels, which are finished in a dramatic anthracite color. Customers can choose between three exterior colors: metallic black, pearl white, and Black Rose (exclusive to the GT Edition).
Some stripes and wheels are fine, but the real changes were made with some significant suspension and equipment improvements, including a retuning of the dampers to provide the ideal balance between ride comfort and high-speed handling.
The list of standard equipment will include: a rear view parking camera as part of the Nissan Premium Connect satellite navigation option and the standard fitment of a tire pressure monitoring system.

Engine

Lift the hood of the Nissan 370Z GT Edition and you’ll find the same 3.7-liter VQ37VHR engine with VVEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift) rated at 332 HP at 7,000 rpm and 270 lb-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm. The engine can be combined with a seven-speed automatic transmission that offers a special snow mode which, when applied, sets the car off in second gear and controls engine revs to prevent wheel spin on ice or snow. Refinement is enhanced by revisions to underbody insulation to reduce road noise.

Prices

The new Nissan GT Edition will be produced in limited numbers. The Nissan 370Z GT will be going on sale in the UK on June 1, 2011, for a starting price of £35,000 - or about $57,000 at the current exchange rates.

Competition

With the new GT edition, Nissan will once again provide some competition for models such as the Porsche Cayman and the Audi TT.
The Cayman, a model that was declared "enemy number one" for the 370Z by the company itself, is powered by a 2.9-liter flat-six boxer engine that delivers 265 hp. The Cayman S gets a 3.4-liter power unit that delivers 320 hp. The Audi TT gets a 2.0 TFSI engine that delivers 211 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a six-speed S tronic transmission.
It’s easy to see that the Nissan 370Z GT is more powerful than the other two models, but the votes for the Nissan don’t end there. There are also a few other aspects where the Nissan model is better than competitors. For one, it’s cheaper - the TT is priced from $38,300 and the Cayman from $51,400 - plus some may even go as far as saying that it is better looking than both of the other models. The GT also boasts of a faster 0-60mph sprint than the Audi as the 370Z gets 5.3 seconds, compared to Audi’s 5.7 seconds.

Video: 2012 Nissan GT-R vs 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S

Welcome to the battle of a couple of the biggest rivals known to man. Nope, we’re not talking about the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics - although we know how that turned out - we’re talking about the Nissan GT-R and the Porsche Turbo. War has been declared between these two since Nissan brought out the GT-R and in order to determine which side would claim ultimate bragging rights, Fifth Gear pinned the two together.
It’s a battle between the 530 HP 2012 Nissan GT-R and the 530 HP 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S. With equal power outputs and similar 0-60 mph sprint times - 3.0 seconds and 3.3 seconds - the real winner will come down to handling, weight, and aerodynamics. Check out the video to see who mastered the task.

2011 Nissan 350Z by WEBER Sports

nissan 350z by weber sports picture

For all intents and purpose, this full body kit for the Nissan 350Z looks pretty cool, although there might be a little confusion on the front bumper. Anyone else think it looks remarkably similar to the Mansory Porsche Panamera? We don’t know if it’s a coincidence or not, but we’re prepared to let it pass.
The work on this 350Z was done by WEBER Sports, which introduced the car at the Tokyo Auto Salon earlier this year. It’s chalked loaded with a full body kit that includes the aforementioned front bumper, a new bonnet with air ducts, side sills, a rear wing, a rear bumper, an under duct center, and plenty of carbon fiber components to go around.
All things considered, the whole kit looks awesome on the 350Z, arguably one of the most underrated Japanese sports cars in recent time. While there are some items that leave a lot to be desired - the front bumper being one of them - the overall treatment given by WEBER Sports on the sports car makes it an eye-catching piece of metal orange fire ball.

Video: Nissan 370Z vs. Mexican Chicken

We see a lot of funny commercials now and again, but rarely does one make us sit back in our chairs and let out a loud guffaw. Ladies and Gentleman, meet Pepe, a Mexican chicken ready to start its battle with the popular Nissan 370Z. There will be no eye-gouging or scratching, but there will be plenty of laughs and speed.
The marketing geniuses that came up with this idea have summed it up as follows: "A Mexican chicken? Up against the meat-eating Nissan 370Z? The things we do to prove a point. By the way, those of a nervous disposition, look away now."
This is the point where we have to clear up some things for the boneheads out there. Do NOT try this at home. A chicken is an innocent animal that should not do battle against anything, let alone a 332 HP sports car.
By the way, the Nissan 370Z is powered by a 3.7 liter V6 engine with an output of 332 HP at 7,000 rpm and 270 lb-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic transmission.

2011 Nissan GTR800 by Hennessey

cars, cars, cars

year:2011
Horse Power @ RPM:813
0-100 time:6.2 sec.
0-60 time:2.6 sec.
Quarter Mile speed:136 mph
Quarter Mile time:10.5 sec.

Hennessey has been laying out packages left and right for a variety of models lately, including the Dodge Ram HPE500, Cadillac Escalade, and now, the lusciously tuned Nissan GT-R. There was no time wasted fiddling with the exterior of the GTR because Hennessey went straight to work pumping up the standard 3.8L V6 engine to produce up to 800 HP.
We haven’t seen this many additions under the hood of a vehicle since the last Hennessey tuned project we encountered, so we’re going to focus on some of the more important ones for now. The standard 3.8L V6 engine was jacked up with the help of SUMO turbo, intercooler piping, and intercooler core upgrades, as well as high-flow fuel injectors and chassis dyno tuning and engine calibration. Other additions include a SUMO stainless steel midpipe exhaust, SUMO stainless steel turbo downpipes, and a SUMO high-flow cold air induction. These modifications allow the GTR800 to pack an 813 HP punch and sprint the car from 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds. The 0-100 mph sprint is made in 6.2 seconds and the quarter mile can be had for 10.5 seconds at a speed of 136 mph.
If that’s not enough for your average consumer, then Hennessey is equipped with several different options, including a transmission clutch pack upgrade, a SUMO electronic exhaust cutout (75 mm), a KW variant 3 adjustable coilover suspension upgrade, premium wheel and tire packages, and carbon fiber body kits and accessories. Oh, and they’ll also throw in Hennessey and GTR800 exterior badges and serial numbered dash and engine plaques for good measure.
