2016 Aston Martin WB12 Vengeance By Kahn Design

Ever since Kahn Design teased the Aston Martin DB9- based WB12 Vengeance in May 2015, updates on the car have been few and far in between. Actually, there hasn’t been so much as a peep about the project, at least until recently when the British tuner announced that the car would make its long-awaited debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

The announcement is the latest indication that Kahn Design is serious about its attempt to become a full-fledged coach builder after establishing a reputation as one of the best Land Rover tuners in the world. It’s worth noting that it was just last year at the same event that Kahn unveiled the Land Rover Defender- based 105 Longnose and the 110 WB 6x6 Flying Huntsman SUV. For an encore, the company is setting the stage for the WB12 Vengeance’s debut, and while the full swath of details have yet to be revealed, Kahn has provided a few specifics about the car, including the meaning behind its name. For instance, the WB stands for wide body while the 12 understandably points to the car’s 6.0-liter V-12 engine.

Kahn also indicated that the inspiration behind the WB12 Vengeance is the first-generation Vanquish, the Ian Callum-penned model that launched Aston Martin into the new millennium. Apparently, at least according to Kahn, Aston Martin hasn’t come close to replicating the kind of design impact the original Vanquish had when it burst into the scene back in 2001.

So, he’s taking matters into his own hands with the WB12 Vengeance. The question now is this: will the WB12 Vengeance live up to expectations? The answer to that will be determined at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

When it comes to cars, the movie industry has given us plenty of cool vehicles to drool over. With creations such as Mad Max’s Ford Falcon-based Interceptor, Knight Rider’s customized Pontiac Trans Am, and The Green Hornet’s Chrysler Imperial around, picking a favorite is nearly impossible. When it comes to automakers, however, Aston Martin seems to be the indisputable leader, especially when it comes to the James Bond franchise. Having already introduced the 2015 Aston Martin DB10 for the upcoming "Spectre" movie, the Brits launched a new production car that celebrates the fictional yet famous Secret Service agent.

It’s called the DB9 GT Bond Edition, and unlike theDB10 , it can be purchased for dealerships the world over.

The DB9 GT joins a comprehensive lineup of Aston Martins created either to star in the James Bond movie or as a tribute to Ian Fleming’s 007. Though it won’t get to feature in an actual installment of the movie, like models such as the 1963-1967 Aston Martin DB5 , 2012 Aston Martin DBS or 2005 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish did over the last five decades, it’s quite an important model as the final incarnation of the DB9 . As you might have already guessed, it is based on the new 2016 Aston Martin DB9 GT , but equipped with a range of exclusive features. Keep reading to find what makes the Bond Edition special.

Spy Shots: Next Aston Martin DBS warms up at Nurburgring

Aston Martin is intensely preparing their new DBS for its official launch and in the past few days, the future DBS was spotted running a very quick lap around the Nürburgring with its sticky Pirelli tires.

According to our spy photographers, the sports car was very fast! That speed comes from its previously used 6.0-liter V-12 engine delivering somewhere between 550-600 HP. Add that to the fact that it was built on a lighter chassis and extensive use of lightweight materials, and you have the recipe for a very successful - and fast - sports car!

As for the design of the DBS, Aston Martin clearly took inspiration from its One-77, visible on the front of the vehicle with its reshaped headlights. The rest of the design seems to be a direct evolution of the current DBS with sportier touches here and there. The rear of the vehicle was more refined with adjustments made to the rear bumper and exhaust.

Expect to see the new Aston Martin DBS launched at the 2012 Paris Auto Show this September.

2013 Aston Martin DBS

Here we go, folks. The 2012 model year will be the last for the current Aston Martin DBS and a newly redesigned model is on its way. In the mean time, Aston Martin fans can enjoy the 2013 DBS Ultimate, which is little more than a slightly upgraded version of the Carbon Black model, but a limited edition nonetheless.

We all anticipate seeing the upcoming 2014 Aston Martin DBS in the 2012 Paris Auto Show, which kicks off the 29th of September. We are also anxiously awaiting some official photos from Aston Martin, which we expect to see some time in June. As we wait, the spyshot groups are out and about seeking some prey and fell upon a 2014 DBS specimen frolicking around the streets and snapped a few pics. Unfortunately, the DBS was wearing significantly more clothing than the models at the Beijing Auto Show and there wasn’t much to be seen.

Well, our crack rendering team has stripped the clothing from this beauty and gave us a good idea of what to expect, with the above picture. Rendering is not what we’re all about though, as we also are prepared to offer you a full review of this new beast using the information we have gathered and just a pinch of speculation.

2012 Aston Martin Rapide S

The spy photographers are out again and they’ve caught a special Aston Martin Rapide testing at the Nurburgring. Initial rumors on this vehicle suggested it was a facelift version of the luxury sedan, but it seems the news is even better. The company is preparing an even more powerful version of the Rapide that will drop the current 470 HP 6.0 Liter V12 in favor of the engine used in the DBS. This means we will get 40 HP more with the new S version. With the new 510 HP, the Rapide S will sprint faster than the current model which does the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 5.1 seconds.

Next to the engine improvement, the Rapide S will feature an even more aggressive front and rear fascia, a lower front bumper with an additional air intake and deep scoops, a more prominent boot lip spoiler and a reprofiled bumper.

The new Aston Martin Rapide S will go on sale in late 2012 and will be priced at about £200,000 or about $325,000 at the current exchange rates.

2011 Aston Martin V12 Zagato Racer

We haven’t even gotten around to digesting the full breadth of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato and we’re already getting a close look at the race-spec version of the new Aston supercar. Or at least something like it.

In preparation for the car’s racing debut at the Nurburgring later this week, Aston Martin gave the eager public a first-hand look at the race-spec version of the V12 Zagato. It might only be a rendering of the car, but at the very least, it gives us an idea on what to expect when the car officially makes its track debut on May 28, 2011 at the 53rd ADAC ACAS H&R-Cup VLN race.

Judging from the rendering, the race-spec V12 Zagato looks pretty much like the street-version with a couple of notable additions, including the prominent rear wing, the table-top front lip, and the black wheels.

That’s as much as Aston is willing to share for now. But at least the wait won’t be that long before we see the race-spec version in the flesh. Good timing too, considering that the 24 Hours of Nurburgring is scheduled for June 25 and 26, 2011 and Aston Martin will be fielding two V12 Zagatos in the annual endurance race.

HBH teases new mid-engined Aston Martin V12

With the recently launched Aston Martin V12 Zagato Concept drawing the auto world’s attention these days, a new development out on the Danish front could make for an interesting new coachbuilt Aston Martin V12.

A Danish coachbuilder that call themselves HBH is reportedly working on a new concept model based on the V12 Vantage, the exact same model the Zagato Concept is based on. Details behind this new coachbuilt V12 Vantage are still murky at this point, although there seems to be growing sentiment that the people behind the project - Jesper Hermann, Christian Brandt, and Torben Hartvig make up the brain thrust of HBH - are looking into giving the car a bespoke chassis.

The car is expected to be a one-off model that will be built for a single customer similar to Michael Stoschek’s New Stratos. No word yet on when the car is going to be ready to make its first appearance but fortunately, HBH was nice enough to roll out a teaser image of this new mystery coachbuilt Aston Martin V12 Vantage supercar.

2011 Aston Martin V12 Zagato Concept

Aston Martin will be celebrating the iconic DB4GT Zagato’s 50th anniversary with a new concept car developed in collaboration with the Italian design house Zagato. The concept car made its first appearance at the Villa D’Este Concours on May 21st, 2011 and will make its racing debut at Nürburgring on May 28th.

Dr. Ulrich Bez, Chief Executive said: "The DNA of both Aston Martin and Zagato has combined successfully to make some of the world’s most desirable collector cars in the past and in this special anniversary year of the DB4GT Zagato it is appropriate to explore a modern collaboration. Now is the right time for a new Aston Martin Zagato and in combining our design intelligence I think we can create something fitting of the iconic DB4GT Zagato that has gone before and since established itself as one of the most famous Aston Martins of all time."

The original Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato made its first appearance in 1960 at the London Motor Show. It was essentially a much lighter DB4 GT that got worked on by the Italian Coachbuilder to include a 3670 cc straight-6 DOHC engine that produced 314 HP with a top speed of 154 mph.

2011 Aston Martin Vantage V8 by Wheelsandmore

German tuning specialists, Wheelsandmore, have taken an Aston Martin Vantage V8 as their next project, giving the British supercar a well-rounded set of upgrades that include a new set of wheels, a new suspension, and a slight increase in power.

As the name of their company suggests, Wheelsandmore is no stranger to having some of the best rims on the market. For the Vantage V8, they decided to dress it up with a new set of handcrafted 21" three-piece 6Sporz² forged rims wrapped in 55/30/21 tires at the front, and 295/25/21 tires at the back. To go with the new set of gorgeous rims, Wheelsandmore also gave the Vantage V8 a new suspension kit courtesy of KW that comes with a rebound and compression adjustable stainless steel coilover suspension variant 3. Lastly, Wheelsandmore gave the supercar a new 200 sport catalysts and flip-controlled exhaust system, giving the Vantage’s 4.7 Liter V8 engine an increased output of 460 horsepower and 369 lb/ft of torque, up from the standard model’s 420-horsepower output.

All told, it’s not the most extravagant tuning program done on the Aston Martin Vantage. But in terms of subtle improvements all the way around, this is about as beautiful as it gets without going overboard.

Aston Martin One-77 for sale in Dubai

If yesterday we reported that there are only 10 units of the Aston Martin One-77 supercar that haven’t been allocated, now we bring you a good news, that of course if you are from Dubai. Alain Class Motors has one Aston Martin One-77 up for sale. However, they did not announced the price for the car, but we bet it will be much higher that the $1,4 millions asked by the company.

The car for sale is painted in pearlescent white combined with a red leather interior. Under the hood there is a 7.3 liter V12 engine that delivers a total of 750 HP and 553 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a six-speed robotized manual gearbox. Those astronomical performance numbers and the One-77’s 3,300 pound curb weight will rocket the car from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 3.5 seconds and to an impressive top speed of 220 mph.

1969 Aston Martin DB6 Volante Royal Wedding Ride

As Royal wedding fever was about to wear off, the Prince had one last surprise in store. For many years his Father has been the owner of an Aston Martin DB6 Mark II that was converted to run on biofuel. The car was decorated in traditional wedding fashion complete with ribbons, balloons, and a trick license plate reading Ju5t Wed. The dark blue Volante convertible was driven by the Prince through the crowds in front of Buckingham Palace on his way to a reception party. The car traveled down the procession route with top down and minimal security. A lone Range Rover followed the Aston and a RAF Rescue helicopter, much like the ones flown by the Prince, flew above with a flag waving below.

The Royals clearly have access to many things including the various Rolls Royce models and Carriages used today, but an Aston Martine DB6 Volante is rare even for them. This legendary car was the longest running production model that Aston Martin ever produced, but only 140 Volante versions were built. Furthermore, this may be the only one in the world running off biofuel made from excess British wine product.

Originally made famous by the James Bond films, these Aston Martin models have been coveted by collectors for years. Very rarely do they come up for sale or auction and the Prince’s will most likely never leave the Royal collection. The DB6 was a major improvement over the previous DB5 model and turned the car into a proper Grand Touring model. Performance for these models was increased through the Vantage edition which raised output to 325hp, but there is no word on the specific power output from the biofuel model.

Aston Martin Super Sport Limited Edition

A few years ago, Aston Martin was busy creating an extremely special edition vehicle called the One-77 supercar. Fast forward to this year, and Aston Martin is at work again creating another special supercar that will be produced in an even more limited supply than the One-77. This time, they have enlisted the help of Star Electric Cars France to produce the Aston Martin Super Sport Limited Edition. The new model will be limited to only 8 units, each priced to € 7,500,000 (around $9,600,000 at the current exchange rates).

The Aston Martin Super Sport Limited Edition will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.4 liter V8 engine producing up to 950bhp. The engine is mated to a a six-speed manual transaxle, fully synchronized with an integral, torque-sensing, helical limited-slip differential.

This special edition will be offered with carbon fiber bodywork and Brembo or AP carbon ceramic brakes. The interior will be covered in leather, alcantara, and carbon fiber with Recaro seats topping it off.

Each of the eight units will be be painted in a different exterior paint with each color only being used once. This little detail certainly explains the limited number and extravagant price tag.

2010 Aston Martin Rapide Luxe

Let’s face it, when you say Aston Martin Rapide, you think of a high-end luxury sedan. However, it seems not everyone thinks of it that way. Wait, what? That’s right, Aston Martin themselves have designed an even more luxurious sedan than the Rapide. It’s called the Rapide Luxe and it was just unveiled by Aston Martin UK.

The Rapide Luxe provides a combination of highly desirable functional features, a greater choice of paint and leather finishes as standard, and unique features including bespoke accessories.

This new edition will be offered with 20” 20-spoke alloy road wheels with a polished finish, full grain leather interior with a choice of colors from the Fast Track or Contemporary ranges, and a luxury entertainment set for rear passengers. This entertainment set includes a 6-disc DVD player, auxiliary input, wireless headphones, and a remote control. Oh, and, of course, unique Rapide Luxe sill plaques.

However, what is so special about the Aston Martin Rapide Luxe is that it comes with a bespoke 6 Piece luggage set (in any of the Fast Track or Contemporary leather colors) that can be ordered in the same leather as the entire interior.

2010 Aston Martin V8 Vantage by D2Forged

Now this is how you tune an Aston Martin. By itself, an Aston Martin V8 Vantage is already one of the most beautiful cars in the world. But if you put one of the most noted supercar tuners in the country to work, they can turn an already eye-catching ride into a jaw-dropping piece of machinery.

2013 Aston Martin Lagonda

When Porsche created the Cayenne there was a massive uproar from the Porsche faithful. They found this new SUV to an abomination of what a proper Porsche, a 911 in their minds, should be. Yet, despite all the hate, the Cayenne was a huge success.

British supercar maker Aston Martin are looking to follow suit with their new Lagonda, which was just a concept a few days ago, but now seems as if it’s headed for the production line. Despite the fact that most Astons are gorgeous vehicles, the Lagonda just isn’t. We thought the first generation Cayenne was bad, but the concept version of Aston’s SUV was like looking at a pile of sick with an Aston Martin badge on top.

Not to mention the fact that Aston have recently announced the Cygnet, a small city car aimed at helping the company bring down its fuel economy numbers. So, on top of that, a new SUV might cause a riot among Aston’s largest following.

2012 Aston Martin One-77

The crazy powerful and very rare Aston Martin One-77 has been in the public eye now for some time, after it was first shown in North America at the lovely Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Like all Aston Martin products, this one is stunning in every category, from exterior styling to power. What they have done with the One-77 is fuse advanced technology with a stunning design to create possibly the world’s most desirable automotive art form.

Yet, as is the way with these things, most people in the world will never get the chance to own or even drive one of these vehicles. The first reason is the price, which is - get ready for this - $1.4 million. Fine, we can just sell everything we own and work really hard for the next 50 years. Yet, even if you have the money, only 77 will be made, making this automotive art form quite rare indeed.

2011 Aston Martin Vantage GT4

Aston Martin has unveiled today details on a new Vantage GT4 for 2011. The new model takes inspiration from the Aston Martin’s V12 Vantage road car and will compete in the future European GT4 Cup and all other series with a GT4 class.

The new Vantage GT4 features a new splitter that increases downforce at the front of the car, a V12’s larger boot ‘flip’ at the rear a new carbon fiber diffuser and rear underfloor and a new rear-mounted high capacity transmission oil cooler.

As with the current 4.7 liter Vantage GT4, which made its race debut in 2009, the 2011 car is closely based on the V8 Vantage road car with key attributes being carried over including the aluminum chassis, base engine and suspension design. In addition to the engine and aero upgrades, competitors can choose a race-developed Bosch ABS and traction control system.

2010 Aston Martin Rapide Nurburgring Edition

Aston Martin will return to the legendary Nurburgring 24-hour race on May 15th-16th, 2010 with a racing version of their latest sedan. The Rapide will compete in near-standard specification apart from mandatory changes required to compete in this most demanding of endurance races and will be driven by a team of engineers from the company’s Gaydon headquarters in Warwickshire, England.

"The Rapide has the capability to carry four people in comfort but first and foremost it is a sports car and we will subject it to the same tests we would our other sports cars. We already have a proven track record at the Nürburgring racing our road cars with limited modification and in recent years we have enjoyed success in winning the SP8 class both in 2008 and 2009."

According to the boys from Aston, the race spec version of the Rapide wouldn’t be too far off of the production version with the only noticeable difference between the two would be the addition of race safety modifications and the elimination of all the interior trims and features found in the production version in an effort to reduce the car’s overall weight.

Aston Martin top dog Ulrich Bez stressed the importance of sticking the Rapide in an environment where it can measure itself against other sports cars from competing brands. “This race represents the ultimate final engineering durability test for any sports car – it subjects the car to the toughest possible assessment under public scrutiny,” he said.

2011 Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Black

For Aston Martin, 2010 has been the year of special editions, and what better way to finish it off then by adding a few more to the mix? The first of them is called the DB9 Carbon Black and, as you’ve probably already guessed, the special edition is covered in black inside and out.

From the Carbon Black exterior paint to the Obsidian Black interior, the DB9 is dressed to the nines. The exquisitely formal color even extends itself to the highly polished Piano Black center console and interior door handles. Black grilles, graphite tail pipes, and unique 19” 10 spoke forged gloss black painted diamond-turned wheels complete the debonair personality of the Aston Martin.

This special edition also features a six-speed Touchtronic II automatic transmission and a re-mapped sports exhaust to exude just the right sound to match the look of the vehicle. Perforated seat inners, semi-aniline leather roof lining, coarse silver stitching, and real polished glass switchgear complete the sporty specification.

2011 Aston Martin DB9 Morning Frost

The next special edition Aston Martin DB9 to come out of Warwickshire is about a 180 degree turn from the dark and mysterious ride revealed earlier. It’s called Morning Frost and, unlike the Carbon Black edition, combines a pearlescent white exterior with a befitting metallic bronze leather interior.

The color may be different, but the DB9 Morning Frost will get the same Piano Black center console and door grabs, Touchtronic II transmission, and 19” 10 spoke silver diamond-turned wheels as did the Black Carbon. However, this DB9 will also get silver brake calipers, magnum silver grilles, and metallic bronze leather headlining with perforated seat inners. The final touch for this special edition will be the unique laser etched sill plaque depicting the famous wings insignia along with the "Morning Frost" logo.
