Immediately following the release of the ultra cool Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, Chevolet has announced the introduction of a new trim level for the muscle car showing up sometime in 2012. So, in addition to the LC, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, and 2SS, customers will also be able to opt for the Camaro LFX powered by a 3.6 liter V6 engine with E85 capability.
This new trim level for the Chevrolet Camaro comes with an updated version of the engine used in models like the Cadillac CTS, SRX, and Chevy Equinox. The engine features a composite intake manifold, integrated exhaust manifolds, and optimized NVH/airflow treatments that allow the 270hp typically delivered by the engine to increase to anywhere from 325-330hp.
There will be no major changes made to either the interior or the exterior, but there will obviously be an LSX badge to distinguish it from the other models in the line-up. Expect to see the new model debut sometime this year with sales to begin in early 2012.
